For those who are joining us on the ride…

Sherb in England

I am providing a pdf of our planned route. For those who are not joining us tomorrow, I hope to squeeze in another ride in early October if the weather cooperates. Next year, we would like to make this a monthly event.

  • Leaving the shop promptly at 11am.
    • If you know your bike needs repairs and you want to do it before we leave, make sure you get here early enough to get it done. Jack will be busy with a customer from Seattle, so please don’t plan on his help.
  • Stopping for lunch/repairs/rest in Middlebury
    • It looks like the best spot for parking will be at “Hen of the Wood” lot, since it doesn’t open until 5pm. This will be on the left side after the light in the center of town.
    • You can eat wherever you want, but two good choices are Blackback Pub or Prohibition Pig Brewery
    • The plan will be 1 1/2 hours for lunch – starting from when the last person pulls into the parking lot.
  • Stopping for 10 – 15 minutes at the scenic overlook at Buels Gore for photos & leg stretching.
  • BRIEF stop at the Shaw’s in Bristol
    • Most of us will turn RIGHT onto Monkton Road & head north.
    • Some will continue on Route 17 to Route 7 since they live down that way.
    • The stop is to make sure we didn’t lose anyone during the last stretch and assume they are with the “other” group.
  • Next stop will be back at the shop.

A few housekeeping notes:

  1. Please gas up your bike before you get here. Ethanol-free fuel can be found at the Sunoco station 1/4 mile from the shop.
  2. Don’t forget your wallet. (I am adding this one for me… I actually forgot my wallet at home yesterday.)
  3. Please park in front of the Saab garage – Jeff is out of town for the week.
  4. I’m not sure how many people will be here, so we’ll figure out the riding order once we’re all here.
  5. We will have access to a “Recovery vehicle” after about 2pm.
