1967 BSA Lightning 650

Price: $5,500

Owner’s Description:

Bike was purchased at Baxter Cycles Iowa in 2011 as a nearly restored example for $7800. It was purchased by a CT resident and owned until 2024 but was rarely used and was a garage queen. For 13 years it only accumulated a few hundred miles when I purchased it in un-running condition. I went through the bike and did a complete tuneup, new fork gators, new tires, full fluid change, timing, and compression check. Bike runs great now and is ready for a new owner. All work I did was completed at Classic Bike Experience under the watchful eyes of the Guild.

Basics:

  • 9,800 on the clocks
  • Matching numbers
  • Registered in NH ; previous Illinois title available
  • Located in Essex, VT

Jack’s Listing Assessment:

We know this bike and owner very well. The bike is set up to be a daily rider. All the important stuff has been tended to and the machine still has a nice look and feel. Starts, rides, handles and stops as it should. I consider it a high 3-star listing. Very solid mechanicals and patina finish. The owner knows his way around vintage bikes and has been with our CBE Guild for 3 years, having done a full restoration on his Norton Commando as well. If you fancy a Beezer, this one would be a great pick
